We are pleased to announce that on August 21, 2025, Sano has been officially awarded the HR Excellence in Research distinction by the European Commission.

This prestigious recognition is granted to research-performing institutions that demonstrate a strong commitment to aligning their policies and practices with the principles outlined in the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers—a common European framework designed to promote transparent, fair, and sustainable research careers.

By earning this distinction, Sano has joined a growing community of leading European universities, research organisations, and funding bodies dedicated to continuously advancing human resources standards in science. This achievement enhances our international visibility, strengthens our position within collaborative research networks, and supports our ability to attract and retain outstanding research talent from across Europe and beyond.

The award reflects our ongoing commitment to fostering a workplace culture built on transparency, respect, and opportunity. It underscores our dedication to supporting the careers, wellbeing, and professional growth of the people behind our science. Beyond strengthening Sano as an institution, this shared commitment contributes to Europe’s global leadership in research and innovation, while encouraging mobility and cross-border collaboration.

The European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, published by the European Commission in 2005, remain cornerstone policy documents shaping the attractiveness of research careers across Europe. They are addressed to researchers, employers, and funding organisations in both the public and private sectors.

In line with this distinction, Sano has published its Human Resources Strategy for Researchers, accompanied by an Action Plan for the initial granting period 2025–2027, available on our website.

Who – What – Why of Sano

Most organizations know who they are and what they do. Nevertheless only few of them know why they do what they do. In Sano we know what we do and how to do it on the highest level. We believe in computational medicine solutions and we enjoy our work. Based on that we define our mission and values.

Our passion is asking questions and seeking for unconventional answers.

The main objective is leveraging computational technologies in the development of futuristic solutions for medical practice. Multidisciplinarity of the projects and diverse perspectives are our strength. By respecting and valuing ethical standards, in particular good scientific practices, transparency, reproducibility of our research and knowledge dissemination, we are building strong connections between us, which empower one another to best work. Thus it become our mission to connect people, ideas and different pespectives no matter of age, ethnicity, or religion.
